Encouraging Word

God Always Comes Through!

Isn’t it hysterical how God just loves a thrilling ending? No, seriously! In nearly every book of the Bible, there are stories where it seems like He doesn’t show up until the last possible second. But in the end, He always comes through. He is faithful and, because of this, we never have to live in worry or fear!

Jesus’ words in Matthew 6:25–26 are a great reminder of this truth …

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”

God loves you so much, and no matter how dark or difficult the circumstances of your life may be right now, He is working all things together for your good. God always comes through, and He is going to meet your needs because you are valuable to Him.

Encouraging Word

Walk by Faith

… for we walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7, ESV).

You may have heard others say, “Walk by faith, not by sight.” It’s a common phrase and Bible verse used among Christians. But what does it really mean?

To walk by faith is to continue moving forward in the things God has called you to, even when you cannot see a happy ending. It is believing God for good, even when everything around you seems to be evil. Walking by faith means that you trust the Lord so much, you obey and you step out of your comfort zone to do what He asks, even when you aren’t sure what the outcome will be, knowing God will protect you and provide for you. He has a plan to abundantly bless you, and this is your chance to take the first step!

Encouraging Word

Embrace the Change

The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing (Psalm 34:10).

When change occurs in our lives, it’s easy and even human to feel worried and concerned. But it’s so important not to let your emotions dictate your actions. When you make the decision to embrace the change and trust in God, I believe you’re going to experience a newfound sense of hope and peace, knowing He will work all things together for your good.

Remember, He is always with you, He is for you and He is GOOD!

Encouragement:

Trust Before Understanding

“Sovereign LORD, you are God! Your covenant is trustworthy, and you have promised these good things to your servant” (2 Samuel 7:28).

Life in God’s will means you have to develop trust before He will give you understanding, which, a lot of times, is the most difficult thing for us to do.

It’s hard to trust God enough to be able to let go of the situation and know that everything is going to turn out exactly how it’s supposed to: for your good! But doing so is an act of faith. It encourages you, and it pleases God when you come to a place that is so intimate with Jesus that you no longer need to know why or when … you just do as you are called to do.

You can trust Him today. He is faithful!

Encouragement:

Never too Far Gone

“Even now,” declares the LORD, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity (Joel 2:12–13).

For some of us, a relationship with God feels too far gone. We think we’ve messed up too much or we’ve strayed for too long. But if you are feeling this way today, then you need to know that God doesn’t operate on expiration dates. In fact, He doesn’t even believe in them.

It’s not too late to ask God to come and be an intimate part of your life. Whether you are 8 or 88 years old, you have the opportunity right now to let the Holy Spirit begin something radical in you. Even now, He is waiting for you with open arms! Go to Him today.

Protect me from the enemy that sets out to steal, kill and destroy. Thank you GOD for your blessings, your calling, your presence and protection. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Prayer of Joy

Lord, I praise you for giving me another day.
I pray that you will restore my joy that comes from knowing you died for me (Psalm 51:12)
Help my joy show through my words and actions today.

For it is you Lord that makes my joy complete. (John 16:24)

Encouragement:

I Will Not Fear

… say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you” (Isaiah 35:4).

Whether it’s a fear of failing, a fear of the unknown, a fear of rejection — all of us struggle with fear at different times in our lives. But don’t let your fear hold you back today. There are so many things God wants to do through you, and as you step out in faith, He will take care of the rest!

All throughout Scripture the Lord tells us not to fear because He is with us. Let me remind you today that when God is behind something, you never have to fear the outcome. He has your best interest at heart, and He will work it together for your good!

December 2

Encouragement:

Renewed

But there’s far more to life for us. We’re citizens of high heaven! We’re waiting the arrival of the Savior, the Master, Jesus Christ, who will transform our earthy bodies into glorious bodies like his own. He’ll make us beautiful and whole with the same powerful skill by which he is putting everything as it should be, under and around him (Philippians 3:20–21, MSG).

When we get in the motion of just “doing life” — you know … work, sleep, work again — it can start to feel like we aren’t really doing anything beneficial for the world or the people in it.

That is why taking time each day to allow God to renew your mind and soul is crucial for spiritual growth and true contentment. Take to sit at the feet of Jesus today. Allow Him to inspire you again and refocus your point of view.

You are exactly where God wants you to be, and He wants to use you in this place. Take some time today to renew your perspective and remember what this life is really about.

Encouragement:

Spiritual Self-Care

For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come (1 Timothy 4:8).

Sometimes our souls can get exhausted, and when that happens, we have to be aware of it and take the time needed to refresh it.

Just as your physical body needs care, so does your spirit. So take some time today to feed your soul with the Word of God, prayer and worship. Prioritize it. You are meant to run your race well, and part of that is truly caring for yourself.

Encouraging Word:

Strength in Our Weakness

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Sometimes I think we take on this false responsibility of feeling like we have to be consistently strong. We can even begin to think that weaknesses are a lack of faith, but the truth is, God’s power is made perfect in our weaknesses!

We don’t have to be ashamed of our shortcomings or upset that we can’t always keep it together. Instead, we can rejoice over the fact that God offers us the gift of relying on His strength and not our own. Truly, the sooner we realize we can’t do it alone, the better off we will be because we’ll rely on HIM alone.

Encouraging Word:

The Peace in Prayer

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful (Colossians 3:15).

My friend, there is so much peace in prayer!

Yes, we will all go through moments and seasons that feel unbearable and confusing. But the truth you can hold on to is that God will never leave your side. He is with you, and even when what you’re asking for doesn’t come to pass, He will still hold you in His presence and fill your soul with an unwavering peace.

Run to Him this week, cry out for what you need and rest in His love even when you aren’t sure what’s next. Your heavenly Father is looking out for you and will take care of you!

Encouraging Word:

How's Your Heart?

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

God is a protector. He will hold your heart close to His and protect it all the days of your life. This can be a difficult thing to wrap your mind around, especially if you’ve been hurt by people close to you.

So, how’s your heart? Are there parts of your life that you don’t want to open up about, certain pains and heartaches that you’re hoping God will just ignore? He is not a Father who will ignore the issue, nor One who will open the wound without care, but One who wants to heal you!

Let your walls down today and let Him in. This is where true intimacy with the Lord begins and where you will learn more about Him and the grace He so freely offers.

Encouraging Word:

A New Door

“I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name” (Revelation 3:8).

God wants to do something BIG in your life. He wants to give you the desires of your heart and so much more. He desires to show you doors that can open up a new world of opportunities. But when we are blinded by our failures and brokenness, it can be difficult to even see those doors.

Seek your heavenly Father today and obtain the healing He is extending to you. I believe there’s a new door in front of you; it’s time for you to see it and walk through it!

Encouraging Word:

Let Your Light Shine

There is a light in you, and God is ready for it to shine brighter than ever before!

God develops His goodness in us. Matthew 5:16, “… let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

I think we sometimes forget that it’s only by the grace of God that Jesus works through us to produce good fruit.

God is always more concerned about the light in you than the one on you, and sometimes He will challenge you so that He can shape you into the image of Christ.

Encouraging Word:

Deliverance

You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance (Psalm 32:7).

Whatever seems to be holding you back today, God wants to bring forth deliverance and freedom in your life.

He is a God of wholeness and healing, so don’t be afraid to ask Him for those things. He is your hiding place, and you can rely on Him for your mental, emotional and physical well-being.

Work from Rest

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:28–30, NKJV).

It’s no secret that we can all have a lot on our plate each day, and the Lord wants us to be able to do all that we desire. But we need supernatural rest in order to do it, and we can only get this by studying the Scripture and spending time in the presence of the Lord.

When we do this, we can start and finish our days working from a place of rest and peace. Take the time to sit with Jesus today and allow Him to give you the rest you need to carry out His will in your life.

Encouraging Word:

Fearless

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).

Fear is the enemy of your destiny! It will grip you and keep you from doing all that you are called to do. That is why it is so important to conquer that fear, to declare that it has no hold on you and, in faith, jump into what God has called you to.

Remember, you have power over your emotions. You have the power to be fearless, and I want to encourage you to walk in that each day. God has so much in store for you!

Encouraging Word:

Love Poured Out

“A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of” (Luke 6:45).

Have you ever noticed the goodness that flows from you after you’ve spent time praying, reading the Word and thanking God for all He’s done?

Personally, I love to think of my quiet time as a reset button. Whenever I notice myself complaining, agitated or just flat out being rude to others, I remind myself, that is not who God is so it isn’t who I am either. But when I take the time to get away and be with Jesus, love quite literally pours out of me! This is the way we are meant to go about our days — sharing love with the brokenhearted and being an example of our Father’s heart.

Make it a priority to bask in the goodness of Jesus each day, whatever that looks like for you. I believe you’re going to be amazed by what He will do in and through you!

Encouraging Word:

The Opportunity of an Interruption

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts”(Isaiah 55:8–9).

Have you ever been on one path of life and just when you feel like things are going perfectly — BANG! — God interrupts? You could even be thinking that there is no way God’s way is better or more convenient at this point. You may have already gotten your degree or worked your way up in this incredible company. But now God is asking you to stop where you are and start something entirely new?

Answering God’s call doesn’t always make sense, and it’s rarely convenient. But He has an incredible plan for your life, and it’s important to recognize His ways are higher than our ways. So make room for Him to move in and through you today, even if it feels like an interruption. I believe He’s going to amaze you!
