I CHOOSE Joy!
Sometimes I wake up on the wrong side of the bed. My-clothes-are-wrinkled, it’s-a-bad-hair-day, I-spilled-my-coffee-all-over-my-blouse-on-the-way-to-the-office kind of wrong side of the bed. And for some reason, it is so difficult to have a good day when the beginning of it didn’t go my way at all.
In these moments, I remember that joy is a choice.
I can choose to let that sequence of events influence and direct the rest of my day, or I can do a 180 degree turn and CHOOSE joy!
A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones (Proverbs 17:22, ESV).
Contrary to popular belief, our emotions and feelings don’t control us. In fact, the Bible actually teaches us that we have authority over those things. God shows us time and time again that we can choose to shut out negativity and, in all things, find the good.
Choose JOY — not only today, but every day — knowing that every inconvenience is no comparison to the joy you have access to, thanks to Jesus Christ and the sacrifice He made.
